Pinoy Artists gather to raise funds for Filipino Youths

 A former Pop Superstar and a local Fil-Am sensation joined the Kundinara in a series of shows in California to raise funds for Bahay Pag-asa, a De La Salle non-rehabilitation for Youthful offenders in the Philippines.

Singer performer Dingdong Avanzado, a dormer member of Kundinara vowed the crowd of mostly Filipino-Americans together with San Diego-based singer, Ashley Robles.

It’s the annual event of the Philippine American Cultural Society of San Diego twhich aims to raise funds for the completion of the Second Bahay Pag-asa Youth Center of Dasmariñas, Cavite.

Vice-President Yolanda Llavore said that rough times might not enable them to reach their target of getting $10 000 from the show’s proceed, but it is somehow related to how bad the economy in the US right now.

Furthermore, the organization was able to raise $7 000 for one concert which will be turned over to Bro. Gus Boquer, President of De La Salle Youth Artists Foundation, Inc.

Avanzado moved out to San Francisco together with his wife, Jessa Zaragosa who announced that they would soon launch a new album to be released in the Philippines.

At the concert, 5 young ladies of Filipino descent were presented to the public. This years Kundinara Princesses, who helped raise funds for the organization were Anne Marie Enriquez, Breana Spence, Denise Antonio Dicknite, Mariah Raizel Quillope and Kiana Nicole Benavente.

Kundinara will have shows in San Francisco and Los Angeles before they head home to the Philippines.

Siging Bee host Cesar Montano as “Buboy” finally admitted that he wants to run for Governatorial position in his province — Bohol.

“I have intention, but I have to prepare everything first,” the actor said.

Cesar Manhiltot in real life tried his luck when he ran for Senator last 2007 election but unfortunately he lose.

Furtherly, he was happy for the success of “The singing Bee” on Kapamilya network. He even said that “Panaghoy Children Foundation” really needs support. This foundation helps send children to school in Bohol, for their parents can’t afford their schooling. Aside from that, Montano is also concerned with the tourism and health services in his province.

“I’m serious about strengthening up to what ever issues and to help in my own little way,” he added.

Showbiz couple Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo finally tied the knot this day, April 28 ’09, at the San Juan Nepomuceno Church in San Juan, Batangas with the presence of close family and friends.

Judai and Ryan successfully avoided the media and make everyone surprise when news broke out at 8 AM, right after the wedding rites officiated by Fr. Tito Caluag.

The entourage was composed of Principal Sponsors Jane Buencamino (Judy Ann’s assistant), Suzy Entrata-Abrera (Ryan’s friend and former co-host for a morning show), Director Rory Quintos, Mon Isberto (friend and former co-host of Ryan’s), photographer Bien Bautista and Benjie Gonzales (Ryan’s uncle). Megastar Sharon Cuneta took on the duties of the Matron-of-Honor while Ryan’s brother Dondi was the Best Man. Agot Asidro, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez were also present to sing during the rites.

The wedding was simple yet it’s solemnity brings happiness to the couple.

The “Josh Groban of the Philippines” said it will be an honor to help his fellow Filipinos.

“If I will be given a chance to help, why not?” Christian said.

He’s lawmaker friend, whom he refused to identify, once gave him this advice: “You can help Filipinos in two ways, by singing or joining politics.

“[He told me] It doesn’t mean that you have to go politics just to help Sometimes, it’s more beneficial if you will stay as a celebrity and help,” he said.

Yes there were offers for him to run and join certain political party. Yet Bautista didn’t nurture the idea. “For now, it never cross in my mind. Though, there’s a nationalistic blood that runs in me but let’s see,” said the croner who happened to be the distant relative of the Revillas and grandson of a former justice of the Court of Appeals.

“I don’t know why but in the back of my mind, as I grow up, there is this feeling but I’m not encouraging it,” Bautista added.

Singer-actress Vina Morales finally gave birth to a healthy baby girl last Saturday morning, April 25. After 20 hours inside the emergency room of Cardinal Santos Medical Center sa San Juan, Metro Manila, she finally gave birth to baby Ceana The baby weighs 6.9 lbs.

She felt overwhelmed upon seeing her baby. And she was very excited asking for the video for that special moment of her life. “If I had to do it all over, I’ll do it again. All the pain was gone when I saw Ceana. She is very pretty. Her looks is the combination of the both of us (Vina and Cedric Lee),” Morales stated who is awake before and after giving birth through normal delivery.

Cedric Lee had given all-out support to Vina for the entire time of her delivery. “He was with me the whole time. He is my birthing partner. Cedric’s presence is a big thing for my fast delivery. I’m so thankful to him for his entire support,” Vina furtherly stated. “We’re very proud parents for our first baby and there’s no such word to describe how happy we are right now,” she added.

With reports from Laila Chikadora, they’ve had spotted Jodi Santamaria with her son Thirdy in a dressing room of ABS-CBN. This is because Thirdy, will have a  special participation on Goin’ Bulilit — a comedy show shown every Sunday, oldest son of Jodi to Pampi Lacson, anak ni Sen. Panfilo Lacson.

As she said, the said episode will be shown this coming Sunday (May 3) and the actress is very excited to the outcome of that episode. It’s not actually the first time Thirdy is shown on TV. Aside this, Thirdy had already shown in some commercials together with Jodi. The child acts so natural, and as early as now is a celebrity like his parents.

Because of this, we asked Jodi if this is the sign of her approval on allowing her son join the world of showbiz. “Not now because it is more important to my son to finish his studies first. And It would be better if he would not enter showbiz and just concentrate on his studies because it is priceless,” Jodi answered.

However, when Thirdy grow up and would think of entering showbiz, she would give her all-out support to his son.

“It’s not true. KC and I are still together,” Geneva quoted.

When she was asked about her son Heaven, she said that he’s okay. And she admits that at the age of 13 years old, Heaven has already a girlfriend.

“It’s okay with me that even at an early age he has already a girlfriend as long as he doesn’t neglect his studies. He picked someone who is nice and has a breeding. The girl is a Puerto Rican. I am not a strict when it comes to that matter. But of course, I never lack in giving him advices for his own good,” Geneva furtherly explained.

Actor Paolo Paraiso, father of the son of Mylene Dizon has officially announced the birth of their 2nd child. The baby is born at Illinois, Chicago, USA. He admitted that beyond his present relationship with Mylene, he is very happy and wants to jump knowing that he is a fther again.

“I and Mylene Dizon are friends and like other parents, we want to do the best for our children. I’m very happy that Mylene delivered our baby successfully and she hadn’t suffered long upon delivering. How I wish that I am there and I’m looking forward to see the three of them,” Paraiso stated.

At the other side of the world, Mylene Dizon told the story of her experience via telephone to SNN host Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino. “The baby is given a name Lucas Miguel. He is 6.11 pounds and 19 inches long. When I come back, I will work out to prepare myself again for the upcoming opportunities to me.I want to thank Doctor Ocampo for taking care of me,” Mylene finally said.

Star for all season Governor Vilma Santos is in New York for the shooting of a movie, together with her son Lucky Manzano and John Lloyd. She’s very excited that after 5 years, here she is making a movie again.

“It took 3 years of asking my constituemts to let me do this project. And I’m happy that they do understand that being an artist ia always on my blood,” she said.

John Lloyd has already arrive at New York together with Lucky who immediately weht there after celebrating his birthday to start the shooting. This movie is directed by Director Olive Lamasan and it’s surely a must to watch for.

The first male performer to sing the national anthem is Martin Nievera. In the past, Pacquiao has assigned only female singers such as Kyla, Karylle, Geneva Cruz and Sarah Geronimo.

Nievera was handpicked by Pacquiao, who dropped the invitation when he met the Concert King during his birthday last December.

“I’m very happy about it. I’ve always wanted to be the singer of the national anthem,” Martin said.

The veteran singer said he’s now preparing to give a rendition of a Lupang hinirang that is “sung by a proud Filipino”.

“Manny Pacquiao is going to bring honor to our country and I’m gonna help make our country proud by singing the national anthem with all my heart and utmost pride,” Nievera added.

Amid all these new new sidebars, it will be Pacquiao who will bask in the limelight when he guns for Hatton’s International Boxing Organization and Ring Magazine junior welterweight title in their “Battle of East and West” bout.
