Ai Ai delas Alas and Sharon Cuneta on BFF

BFF or Best Friends Forever is not just another comedy movie. It is a fusion of comedy and drama which highlights the acting caliber of its main stars, Sharon Cuneta and Ai-ai delas Alas. BFF makes a strong contender as the best family movie of the year.

The story is about the two women, who have different lives but have so much in common. Honey (Sharon) is the perfect mother and wife. Unfortunately, she suspects that her husband (John Estrada) is cheating on her, which she eventually confirms. She investigates herself, and discovers that her husband is losing interest in her because she has gotten overweight, so he looked for a sexier mistress to fulfill his needs. The other woman is Frances (Ai-ai), a gym instructor, a single mom who is looking for a man who will finally want to spend the rest of his life with her.

BFF stars Sharon and Ai Ai are happy for the success of their movie. It gains a sross income of 16 million pesos on its first day of showing at more than 100 theaters nationwide.

This movie was directed by Dir. Wenn Deramas. The two lead star Sharon Cuneta and Ai Ai delas Alas are as real best friends after they shoot the movie.

Thanks to the support casts who also spiced up the movie. John Estrada showed his versatility both in drama and comedy, while Gina Pareño, Chokoleit and Joy Viado provided more comic relief. The movie also stars Empress Schuck, AJ Perez, Enchong Dee, DJ Durano, Miles Ocampo, and Nash Aguas, who all did very good on their individual parts.

“This movie is really intended for family and for friends,” Sharon said. “It’s really mixed of drama and comedy,” Ai Ai added.

On its premiere night, Senator Kiko Pangilinan was early to give his all-out support for his wife. He was asked about his plan on running as Vice-President on 2010. “I’d consulted my wife regarding that matter and we pray for it,” Pangilinan said.
