Hosts of ABS-CBN's new noontime show, It's Showtime.

Showtime is back as the new Kapamilya noontime show called “It’s Showtime”.

February 6, 2012 marked its first pilot episode in ABS-CBN Channel 2.

Several minutes after the said talent search program was aired in television on Monday, the hash tag #itsshowtime ranked No. 1 in Twitter.
At exactly 12: 27 PM yesterday, it became the hottest Twitter topic in the Philippines.

A showcase of Filipino talents still remains the highlight of the program. The original Showtime hosts namely Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Kim Atienza including Billy Crawford, Karylle, Jugs Jugueta and Teddy Corpuz still remain the hosts of the said show in its new timeslot.

Featured as new noontime hosts were Ryan Bang and Coleen Garcia as they are now officially part of “It’s Showtime”.

Talented groups who wanted to be seen and discovered via television will not be hopeless as the new noontime show promises to continue fulfilling their dreams through talent competitions.

Hosts of It’s Showtime must be very excited to have their new daily routine. To add excitement, Vice Ganda’s Singing V and Vhong Navarro’s “Sine Mo ‘To!” are among the program’s new gimmicks.

Obviously, the hosts are still having adjustments. Anne, Jugs and Vice Ganda admit via Twitter that they are still trying their best to please the viewers.

Vice Ganda asks understanding from all of their viewers as they are still having careful adjustments during their pilot episode.

The hosts appreciated and accepted every honest comment they had and promise an improvement to their fans in the days to come.

Added to that is the supporting statement given by Jugs Jugueta emphasizing that “It’s Showtime” is not for competition. It is intended to purely entertain the people.

Ahcee Flores comments

A twitter user named Ahcee Flores is now the center of discussion in different social networking site after she commented harsh things against Bisaya people regarding the earthquake that happened last Monday.

Flores who posted a comment on a Yahoo story praying for a tsunami to occur in Visayas made the netizen burst to anger.

Several Facebook pages were already made against Ahcee Flores and most of them are protesting on the comment made by Ahcee. One of the hate pages says “Kill Ahcee Flores Movement” with more than 11,000 likes and “Buang Kah Ahcee Flores” with 4,250 likes.

Flores also became a trending topic in the micro blogging site Twitter were she is receiving criticism most from Bisaya people. Others are giving advices to Ahcee if she could apologize to the public to stop the movement against her.

People who were badly affected on the comment of Ahcee Flores tried to find her location and she was pinpointed living in Manila, National Capital Region.

Her pictures have started to spread all over different social networking site trying to warn others about Ahcee while some have edited her pictures and distorted it.

Last 2011 the same thing happened when Typhoon Sendong hit the country and harsh comments were made from Celine Acut and Van Carumba both were Filipinos living abroad.

Crack caused by the 6.9 Magnitude Earthquake in Negros Oriental, February 6, 2012.

Death toll reaches 43 in Negros Oriental after the 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit the Negros Island on Monday creating several aftershocks even up to these moments.

In Guihulngan City, specifically in Barangay Planas, 29 lives were taken due to a reported landslide while 10 more individuals were reportedly dead in the nearby cities of Negros Oriental.

Such information was according to the statement given by Col. Francisco Patrimonio, 302nd Brigade army commander as reported.

Col. Patrimonio added that 2 people had died in the town of Tayasan. One was killed in Bindoy while the other one who died was from Jimalalod. These areas were located in the province of Negros Oriental as well.

While the magnitude of 6.9 earthquake continue to raise death toll in Negros Oriental, around 40 individuals are still currently missing in Barangay Planas due to the reported landslide as stated by Governor  Roel de Gamo of Negros Oriental during an interview.

The Army Official said that they are still on the process of determining the exact number of injured individuals due to the 6.9 magnitude earthquake in Negros Oriental.

Search and rescue operations are still on-going though darkness had already filled the area tonight. Rescuers are trying their best to look for those missing individuals in Barangay Planas.

Philvolcs announced a Tsunami Alert Level 2 in Negros and Cebu yet it was cancelled earlier.

Around 157 aftershocks were listed by Phivolcs late on Monday.

Deputy Director of Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) informs the people in the affected areas that they will continue to feel some aftershocks until next week. The aftershocks may even last for about 2 weeks.

Earthquake in Negros causes the road to crack

Seven people were reported dead due to the 6.8 magnitude earthquake that strikes the province of Negros and Cebu, Monday.

In a press conference of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, Chief Benito Ramos confirmed that there were already seven people reported dead and two of them were children.

Buildings and establishment particularly in Cebu were damaged with broken windows and cracks on the walls but there were no reports of total collapse.

The quake which originated 44 miles North of Dumaguete, 45 miles West North West of Tagbilaran, Bohol and 49 miles West South West of Cebu have caused panic among the residents who felt the tremor.

In Cebu, a reported aftershock was announced in the radio thus employees working in high buildings started to rush out from their offices and tried to find a safer place.

Schools in the province of Negros issued the suspension of classes to insure the safety of their students while Malls decided to close for precautionary measure incase an after shock happens.

In Iloilo City, Mayor Jed Mabilog have declared no work to all government employees and suspended classes in the city.

Some of the power lines in Visayas were knocked down causing a power out in the region while roads have suffered cracks.

The earthquake was felt around 11:49am (Philippine Time) and lasted for 30 seconds with a magnitude scale of 6.8 according to the report of US Geological Survey.

Earthquake in Negros Island

An unexpected phenomenon strike some parts of Visayas as 6.8 magnitude earthquake was felt by the residents living in the  region.

According to the report by  USGS or US Geological Survey, the quake strike at around 11.49 am (Philippine Time) with a magnitude scale of 6.8.

People living in the area started to post in different social networking site such as Facebook and Twitter expressing their shock about the unexpected earthquake.

The quake lasted around 30 seconds and located 44 miles North of Dumaguete, 45 miles West North West of Tagbilaran, Bohol and 49 miles West South West of Cebu.

Phoemela Baranda’s mistake while reporting about the Spongecola had captured the netizens and made his name trending on twitter not only in the Philippines but worldwide.

The veteran host and reporter mistaken Spongecola and she pronounced Spongebob instead of the Filipino band who was playing on It’s Showtime countdown.

Truly there are so many twitter users in the Philippines and the mistake made by a reporter goes on trending.

Phoemela Baranda stated that “kasalukuyang tumutugtog and bandang Spongebob.”

The simple mistake by a reporter was a big deal for those twitter user. Micro-blogging site could make or break a career of a person but the incident about Phoemela is just a simple mistake.

HYY last Episode

Noontime show of ABS-CBN, Happy Yippee Yehey bids goodbye to their televiewers as they aired their last episode in AFP Theater yesterday.

For almost one year of giving fun and entertainment to the Filipino people, hosts, staff and crews of the show gives their sincere thanks to those who have supported them all through out the year and for the ABS-CBN management for giving them the opportunity to bring happiness to the public.

One of the show’s hosts, Pokwang specifically mentioned the support and trust that the TFC subscribers have given to them and hopes that somehow their one year presence of being in television made them feel that they are not alone although they are far from their love ones.

Rico J. Puno and Toni Gonzaga expressed their happiness that they have become part of the show and added that even though HYY is gone but still they will not miss each other since each of the hosts will be seen in the different projects in ABS-CBN.

Gonzaga also mentioned the she will miss her fellow hosts and staff of HYY for they have established a happy family in the show which she will cherish forever.

One of the original hosts of the show John Estrada expressed his disappointment over the termination of the show but stressed out that he understand and respect the decision of the management for they are only doing what they think would be the best for all. He also asked the Filipino people to support the new noontime show of ABS-CBN its Showtime.

The show will be replace by “It’s Showtime” hosted by the Showtime family including Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Kim Atienza, Billy Crawford, Karylle, Jugs and Teddy with new hosts Ryan Bang, Jhong Hilario and Coolen Garcia. It will start to air on February 6.

Koreen Medina won the highly coveted title as “My Girl Grand Winner” for the last episode of the noon-time show Happy Yipee Yehey which was aired today, February 4, 2012.

Aside from the P1 Million cash awards given to Koreen, she will sign also an exclusive contract with Star Magic. She also won P20,000 worth of gift certificates from BNY, P100,000 worth of services from Allure Body Contours.

Koreen Medina won also the Texters Choice Award with a brand new car sponsored by BNY.

President Aquino and Grace Lee

Grace Lee finally admits to the public that she and President Noynoy Aquino are currently dating.

During an interview with Lee in TV Patrol World, the Korean personality confirms that she is seeing PNoy and they are currently in the process of getting to know each other. In connection to that, Grace is appealing to the public to give them privacy and time so that they will know more about each other and establish a relationship.

Lee expressed that she is flattered that the highest official of the Philippines is admiring her but stressed out that she’s quite nervous and afraid about what the public would say about her.

The two have first met each other in June 2011 during an inauguration ceremony held in Cebu.

As for the opinion of the Filipino people, Grace explained that even though she is hesitant about this happening to her life, she is in positive mind that Filipinos would accept and understand her situation.

When ask about her impression towards PNoy, the Korean personality told Dumaual that she is impressed with President Noynoy Aquino being so gentleman and respectful when he acknowledge that they are dating each other.

Although the two has a big age gap, Grace Lee doesn’t mind that issue rather he said that she is hoping that somehow the two of them will serve as an inspiration to others and be happy whatever happens in the future.

President Aquino who will be celebrating his birthday on February 8, Grace said that she has already in mind on what will be her birthday gift to the president and she rather choose to keep it as secret to surprise PNoy.
