NEW DELHI: Telecom shares were trading with losses in Tuesday’s afternoon session.
Shares of Vodafone Idea (down 7.63 per cent), GTL InfrastructureNSE -9.09 % (down 5.00 per cent), Aksh OptifibreNSE -4.49 % (down 4.99 per cent) and Optiemus Infracom (down 4.90 per cent) were trading lower.
Reliance Communications (down 3.90 per cent), GTL (down 3.33 per cent), Bharti Airtel (down 2.67 per cent) and OnMobile Global (down 1.81 per cent) too were trading in the red.
The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading 2.19 per cent down at 947.22 around 11:33 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 24.40 points at 11,498.85 while the BSE Sensex was up 80.68 points at 38,748.01.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indiabulls Housing Finance, IDFC First Bank, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, IDBI Bank, SBI, NCC and BPCL were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
