Share market update: Auto shares in the red; Tata Motors down 3%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the red in Friday’s morning session.

Shares of Tata Motors (down 2.96 per cent) , Tata Motors (DVR) (down 2.95 per cent) , Motherson Sumi SystemsNSE -1.30 % (down 2.51 per cent) and Bharat ForgeNSE -1.74 % (down 2.15 per cent) were trading lower.

Apollo Tyres (down 1.27 per cent) , Amara Raja Batteries (down 1.05 per cent) , Ashok Leyland (down 1.05 per cent) and Bosch (down 0.66 per cent) too were trading with losses.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.38 per cent down at 8602.65 around 10:18 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 32.85 points at 11,025.35 while the BSE Sensex was down 63.83 points at 36,661.59.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

Shares of Wipro, Tata Motors, Vodafone Idea, NTPC, Bank of Baroda, SBI, YES Bank, NHPC, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, Hindalco Industries, BEL, ICICI Bank, ONGC and ITC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
