Share market update: PSU bank shares fall; Indian Bank down 2%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading in the negative zone in Friday’s morning session.

Shares of Indian BankNSE -1.36 % (down 1.90 per cent), Bank of India (down 1.78 per cent), Canara Bank (down 1.68 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (down 1.52 per cent) were trading with losses.

Union Bank of India (down 1.37 per cent), Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd. (down 1.29 per cent), Syndicate Bank (down 1.27 per cent) and Oriental Bank of Commerce (down 0.83 per cent) too were trading lower.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.06 per cent down at 2655.45 around 10:51 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 92.40 points at 10,887.60 while the BSE Sensex was down 295.17 points at 36,723.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 8 were trading in the green, while 42 were in the red.

Shares of Ashok Leyland, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, JSPL, Bharti Airtel, SAIL, ICICI Bank, SBI and Dish TV India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
